Shocked WOW! John-Boy, I never realized that there were that many. Did DuPont put all of them out of business?

Jim - I'm sure a goodly lion's share! Only sure way to determine how many would be to read the DuPont corporate archive papers at the Hagley Museum in Deleware.

Do know, that when the Federal Gov't cited DuPont for Restraint of Trade in the late '1960's ... Dupont's last dying swan act for black gunpowder was the deal they made with Nobel in the early 70's:
Nobel (made?) Meteor at their Ardeer, Scotland facility. Packaged it in orange cans under the name of Meteor ("Made in Great Britain") - with Canadian Limited Industries (CLI) also on the can. Now, here's the kicker: CLI used an address as Plattsburgh, NY which also was where DuPont had an office. Then the Dupont salesmen peddled the Meteor powder! Laughing

I believe that the Meteor powder was the last of the Curtis & Harvey powder. C&H stopped making gunpowder at Ardeer when Nobel bought the facility in 69 or 70. The Meteor cans have a 1973 lot date on them

I lucked out one day at a CAS match and bought 69#'s of Meteor from a spectator that 'twisted my arm at 4 bucks a can' Very Happy The powder is excellent (fps and SD's) and will run Postell's and PJ Creedmoors to 1000yds with accuracy. Even 570gr PP bullets

Yesterday, I found an old rusty can, which looks to me like a gunpowder can. The best I can make out, it says "tempico" on the top / bottom. One end is open with a side handle with a release mechanism attached. Was there such a brand? It was found near Grants Pass, Oragon.

What is the cross (usually on back on trucks) that has an anchor, fish, and antlers? I've seen it a few times on the back of trucks. The anchor is usually the bottom of the figure, with anters and fish, making it look like a cross. Does anyone know what it's called?

Can I get rid of a Trojan on my computer by reformatting the hard drive?
I have a Trojan on my computer, and lots of spyware and adware, but no viruses. I have been unable to remove them using McAffee Security Center with Virus Scan, and do not want to spend any more money on Anti-virus software. I don't have any pertinent files that aren't backed up already, so will doing a restore off of the factory CDs (it's an eMachine) remove all of the problems that I need to get rid of? Any other suggestions that I might be able to try are also welcome. Thanks!
